Video of Teachers Berating 9yo Girl Sparks Outrage — Here’s What We Know So Far
Recently, a video has been making waves online, showing an elementary school student being scolded by a group of teachers.
In the video, the nine-year-old student can be seen crying and visibly distressed while one teacher points a finger at her.
The video has since gone viral, and the student’s mother has come forward to explain what actually happened. According to the mother, known as Mustika, her daughter Lisa came home from school in tears.
“She scolded me to the point she pointed a finger at my head. The teacher didn’t do that with other kids. She insulted me. I'm telling the truth,” said the girl.

Surprisingly, the video of the incident was shared by the teacher herself

Following her daughter’s claims, Mustika tried to reach out to one of the teachers for an explanation. However, the teacher said she was busy and instead sent Mustika the video of herself and other teachers scolding Lisa.
It is understood that the teachers were trying to get a confession from Lisa after the student allegedly accused one of them of something she didn’t do.
“Did I do it or not? If not, say it loudly. From now on, don't accuse your teacher of anything. If you don't want to go to school, tell your mother. But don't accuse your teacher of doing this or that to you. If you keep doing this, your mother will come to school and attack teachers,” the teacher said.
According to Mustika, the group of four to five teachers scolded her daughter at the school canteen, where other students attending an extra class were present. To make matters worse, Mustika said the teacher even called Lisa’s classmates to witness the scene.
Sensing that the teacher was avoiding her, Mustika confronted her, saying the public scolding had left her daughter afraid to return to school.
“This is not the way to treat someone’s child. You and the other teachers berated her to the point she was too scared to go to school. When I want to meet you, you avoid me. Does this mean I don’t have the right to discuss this properly? Or are you trying to hide what happened?” Mustika wrote.

Despite questioning the teacher directly and reaching out via a group chat, Mustika revealed she has yet to receive any explanation about the incident.
Following the ordeal, Lisa refused to go to school for a month, prompting Mustika to transfer her to another school.

The incident has garnered significant public attention. Many commenters—some of whom are teachers—have voiced their support for Mustika and Lisa.
“I'm a teacher. Why is she treated this way? I suggest you go to the school and meet with the headmaster. If there's no action, go straight to the District Education Office (PPD) and file a SISPA and a police report for harassment. I'm a teacher, and I do not support this behaviour.”

“As a teacher, there's only one thing I want to know: where is the school's counseling unit? This should have been handled in the counseling room. What’s wrong with teachers these days? A teacher’s job is not only to educate but also to be a safe space for children. I’m so angry!”

Lisa’s aunt, Sajat has also taken to social media to share her thoughts

Lisa is reportedly the niece of well-known Malaysian-born entrepreneur Nur Sajat Kamaruz Zaman.
Following the viral video, Sajat expressed her disappointment and anger on TikTok over the treatment Lisa received.
“You know it’s bad when the student has to move schools. I don’t understand why the teacher had to point her finger when scolding Lisa. If she wanted to pick a fight, she should’ve picked one with me or her mother.”
The case is currently under investigation by the Ministry of Education

In a statement, Minister Fadhlina Sidek said she regretted the incident, noting that it could negatively impact the child’s emotional development. She added that the ministry is taking full responsibility and giving the issue its utmost attention.
“Teachers are constantly reminded of their integrity and ethics as civil servants, regardless of the situation at hand. I firmly believe there are safer and more private avenues to resolve any discussion or issue appropriately.”
