Experience the Best of Traditional Favourites at The Westin KL’s Jom Balik Kampung Buffet this Ramadan
Celebrate the spirit of Ramadan with family and friends at The Westin Kuala Lumpur's 'Jom Balik Kampung' buffet, served by Chef Arfizan and his culinary team from 4 – 28 March 2025.
Led by the Hotel's newly joined Executive Chef, Arfizan Rahim, The Living Room—the Hotel's Halal-certified kitchen—will feature an extensive buffet showcasing the traditional and nostalgic aroma and flavours of 'Kampung'-inspired favourites.
The key signature and highlights of the spread include various stations offering mouth-watering selections:
Soup station
Indulge in the hearty Sup Kambing Gearbox, Sup Tulang Rusuk, Sup Ekor Lembu, Sup Lidah and Sup Kaki Ayam, each bursting with rich flavours and traditional spices that will transport your taste buds to your hometown.
Carving station
The Living Room's signature carving station features Kambing Golek Balik Pulau, marinated with aromatic spices and slow-roasted for two hours. It will be served with Nasi Briyani Utara, Acar Jelatah, Rendang Daging Bakar, and Salmon Bakar Kuala Perlis.
‘Panggang D’Muara’ live grill station
The buffet's star attraction, located at Treats's Street Side Entrance, features live grilling and a selection of prawns, squid, crabs, clams, chicken and beef satay, and various types of fish.

Signature rendang corner
A Ramadan and Raya favourite, the Rendang corner will serve a variety of rendang dishes, including:
- Rendang Ayam Kampung Hijau
- Rendang Daging Pahang
- Rendang Udang Cili Padi
- Rendang Lidah
It is accompanied by Lemang, Ketupat Palas, and Burasak Bugis, as well as various condiments like Serunding Daging, Serunding Ayam, and Serunding Kelapa.
Other highlights
Additionally, the buffet will also offer an impressive selection of dishes: kerabu, ulama, pickled fruits, a roti stall, fresh seafood, a variety of noodle soups, Chinese and Indian dishes, Western selections, and the bubur lambuk, a Ramadan favourite and staple for breaking fast.
We loved the kerabu section, which featured various kerabu-based dishes, and the roti stall, which served fresh and hot rotis of all sorts.

Meanwhile, end your meal on a sweet note at the Manis Semanis Ibu Suzana section, featuring a variety of traditional Malaysian desserts prepared by Executive Pastry chef Suzana Anwar.
Sweet tooths can look forward to bubur pulut hitam, bubur kacang hijau, pengat pisang sago, serawa durian, dodol, tapai ubi, tapai pulut, kuih ketayap, kuih seri muka, kuih kemboja, nona manis, tepung pelita, ais krim potong, and more.

To complement the sumptuous feast, The Living Room's selection of refreshing beverages will include Malaysian favourites like, Nescafe tarik, neslo, teh halia, teh ais madu buih, susu jagung, soya cincau, bandung selasih, Ribena strawberri and kopi hainan ais.
