K-pop mega group EXO’s member Doh Kyungsoo, also known as D.O., recently held his first-ever solo fan concert in Malaysia. EXO-Ls were thrilled to see him during ‘BLOOM’ on 17 August at Axiata Arena Bukit Jalil. As of the time of writing, #BLOOMinKL is still trending on X, with fans sharing their precious memories from the concert.
He even adorably shared pictures of him eating roti tisu in an unconventional way:
However, many fans also took to the platform to share their gripes about the concert organiser, a Singaporean-based company.
One fan labelled them as being the “worst organiser” as they rejected fanbase projects at the venue (usually done by fans to support the artist and spread their love to other fans.) Each zone’s lane was apparently not appropriately labelled, with staff just shouting to ask fans to come in. The exterior of the venue, which is where fans usually hang out and exchange freebies, was apparently “dull”, and only one Kyungsoo backdrop was provided for fans to take photos with.
Many were also upset at not getting the promised free photo cards, which are deemed highly collectable for K-pop fans and can even accept high resale values.
There were also complaints about there being only one photo booth for thousands of fans.
Most of the complaints were about the MC, who made the fan concert somewhat awkward with her translations.
According to one fan, the MC was a Singaporean-based Korean, and she used strange phrases like “Semoga Bahagia” and “Sangat Sedap”, which Malaysians don’t use.
Lightsticks are also something that is used by every fan to hype up the concert. However, the concert organisers apparently didn’t allow version 1 of EXO’s lightstick, which is black, as they thought that it was unofficial as the current one is white.
Some even complained about a bright spotlight shining into their eyes, preventing them from seeing Kyungsoo properly during certain songs.
One fan said that the view was severely restricted for those who sat in the first and second rows. It doesn’t seem worth it, considering VIP tickets were priced at a whopping RM928.
Did you attend the concert? Did you face similar issues there? Anyway, it doesn’t affect EXO-Ls love for Kyungsoo! EXO Saranghaja!
