Kata Maria, wajahnya yang kacukan membuatkan dia kerap mendapat tawaran untuk melakonkan watak yang hampir sama.

“People always ask me what mix am I. I am Filipina/Malay. And since the time I was small, I always thought I was like everyone else.

“Turns out being 'celup' had its pros and cons. Having a pan Asian look opened door for me in the modelling world, and the movie industry.

“But at the same time stereotyped me into playing certain parts only, meaning I couldn't do any kind of village girl parts.

“Not really complaining, but wish there were more versatile parts for 'celups' like me. Still... Am totally grateful for everything that has come my way! And hopefully more in the near future,” tulisnya
