Tok Mat Apologises for Traffic Jam Caused by Chinese President’s Visit, Suggests Employees WFH During ASEAN Summit
For the past few days, many Malaysians found themselves stuck in traffic in parts of Klang Valley following several road closures during Chinese President Xi Jinping's visit.

Although the road closure was temporary, it undeniably caused frustration among many, as some reportedly waited for hours for the road to be accessible to the public again.
Well aware of the inconvenience, Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad bin Hasan, or affectionately known as Tok Mat, has offered an apology regarding the issue.
He is also reportedly in discussion with the Cabinet to propose work from home (WFH) for employees in the Klang Valley area during the upcoming ASEAN summit, as there is a possibility of further road closures ahead of the arrival of dignitaries.

As reported by FMT, aside from work-from-home suggestions, the Cabinet would also be discussing allowing schools to hold lessons online during the ASEAN Summit that will take place in May and the ASEAN Summit with Dialogue Partners in October.
“I want to suggest to the Cabinet that staff of certain departments be allowed to work from home and for schools to carry out their lessons online to reduce congestion and avoid inconveniencing Malaysians, especially in the Klang Valley."
"I also want to apologise to everyone who was affected by the road closures during Xi Jinping's visit,” he said.
