Perak Ranked First Among M'sian States for English Proficiency, Selangor Places 6th
If you think the state or city with the highest English proficiency in Malaysia is Selangor or Kuala Lumpur, you’re in for a surprise—data reveals that Perak actually holds the top spot for English proficiency in the country.

Meanwhile, Shah Alam ranked #1 among Malaysian cities for the highest English proficiency rate.
In case you're wondering, the EF EPI is a globally recognised index that evaluates the English skills of adults in over 100 countries. Here are other Malaysian states that made it into the list:
