14yo Suffers Two Broken Fingers and Loses Part of One After Firecracker Tragically Explodes in His Hand
A teenager became the first victim of a firecracker incident, losing part of his middle finger and injuring his right index finger after failing to throw a lit ball firecracker in an incident at Machang, Kelantan yesterday.
The incident, which occurred around 8 pm, also caused both fingers of Adam Aiman Noor Kamarul Azwan, 14, to break.
The victim's stepmother, Siti Zuraini Muhammad, said her son is currently being treated at Sultan Ismail Petra Hospital (HSIP), Kuala Krai after experiencing bleeding in his fingers due to the explosion.
According to her, Adam Aiman was said to be holding the lit ball firecracker but did not manage to throw it before it exploded in his hand.

"I became aware of the incident after being informed by his cousin. Adam Aiman stayed at his cousin's house in the same village last night."
"He initially hid the pain he was experiencing after the incident. His cousin noticed Adam Aiman's finger was severed after seeing blood stains on the mattress in the room while waking him up for sahur," she said when contacted today.

Siti Zuraini said she then took her son to Machang Hospital before he was transferred to HSIP for further treatment.
According to her, before the incident, Adam Aiman had asked for money from her, claiming he wanted to buy cakes to break fast.
"I gave him RM10 because I happened to have no small change. I suspected Adam Aiman bought firecrackers because he did not return the change after buying the cakes," she said.
